    How Baggage Transfer Works

    Rules That Apply to All Companies

    Bag ready time — standard stopsLeave bags at reception/luggage area by 09:00 each morning. Set off walking after handing them over — no need to wait.
    Bag ready time — Inversnaid08:00 (not 09:00). Remote location requires earlier collection. Only Travel-Lite, AMS Scotland and Sherpa Van serve Inversnaid.
    Weight limit20 kg per bag (confirmed for Travel-Lite and AMS). Likely the same for others — always check directly when booking.
    Bag labellingTag your bag clearly with your full itinerary (all stop names in order), your name, and your mobile number. Tags usually provided by the company.
    Confirmed accommodation requiredYou must have a confirmed booking at every stop before the baggage company can plan their route. Most will not deliver to unconfirmed wild camps.
    Direction of travelStandard services run Milngavie → Fort William only (south to north). Travel-Lite and AMS offer reverse route at £110/bag. Baggage Freedom and Ginger Routes do not.
    Airbnbs and unlisted propertiesAll companies will try to deliver to Airbnbs and unlisted properties. Enter the full address and postcode when booking, or contact them to confirm first.
    Travelodge Fort William — IMPORTANTTravel-Lite CANNOT deliver to Travelodge Fort William. If you plan to stay there, use a different company or choose alternative accommodation.

    Wild Camping & Non-Standard Stops

    Bag drop points for wild campersIf wild camping, your bags must still go somewhere. Properties that accept bag storage for non-residents include: Rowardennan Youth Hostel, Ben Lomond Bunkhouse (NTS), Bridge of Orchy Hotel, Inveroran Hotel (bags go to the cottage just past the hotel — not the hotel itself).
    Baggage Freedom — camping noteWill drop at campsites and well-used wild camping spots, but all stops must be booked in advance so they can plan the route. Contact them directly to arrange.
