    Bregenzerwald Käseweg

    Austria · Vorarlberg
    Hilly

A 100km 'Cheese Trail' through the Bregenzerwald region of Vorarlberg, linking alpine dairies, traditional wooden villages, and lush mountain meadows. The route visits farmstead cheese-makers producing Bergkäse and Alpkäse, with tastings along the way. Expect well-maintained paths through a landscape of distinctive Vorarlberg wooden architecture — the region is known for its modern timber buildings alongside traditional farmhouses. Mountain meadows are rich with wildflowers in summer. The Bregenzerwald combines Austrian mountain scenery with a strong local food culture. Cable cars offer shortcuts on hillier sections.
