    Camino de Levante

    Spain · Eastern Spain
    Hilly

A 475km Camino variant from Valencia through the Spanish interior, crossing La Mancha and Castilla before joining the Camino Francés near Zamora. The route passes through arid plains, olive groves, and medieval towns that see very few pilgrims. Expect long stretches of open meseta with limited shade, quiet rural villages with basic services, and an authentic experience far from the busier Camino routes. The landscapes of Don Quixote's La Mancha provide a distinctive atmosphere. Best walked in spring or autumn to avoid the intense summer heat.
