A 400km coastal Camino along Spain's northern seaboard from Irún on the French border to Santander, following the dramatic Basque and Cantabrian coastline. The route passes through San Sebastián, Bilbao (with the Guggenheim Museum), and numerous fishing villages clinging to cliff edges. Expect constant undulation as the trail climbs and descends between headlands and beaches. The Basque Country section offers exceptional cuisine — pintxos bars and cider houses. The coastal climate brings mild temperatures but frequent rain. Fewer pilgrims than the Camino Francés.
