A 210km coastal trail along Portugal's wild southwest coast — part of the Rota Vicentina network — from Santiago do Cacém to Lagos. The route follows dramatic sea cliffs, crosses pristine sandy beaches, and passes through traditional fishing villages in the Vicentine Coast Natural Park. Expect exposed clifftop walking with Atlantic winds, sandy paths through dunes, and a landscape rich with wildflowers in spring. The Alentejo coast remains relatively undeveloped, with simple guesthouses and excellent fresh seafood. Swimming opportunities are frequent in sheltered coves.
Based on passability window, temperature, precipitation patterns, daylight hours, Mediterranean heat, and Atlantic winter storms.
