This 285km national trail follows the line of the 8th-century earthwork along the England-Wales border, from Sedbury Cliffs on the Severn Estuary to Prestatyn on the north Welsh coast. The route traverses the Black Mountains, the Shropshire Hills, and the Clwydian Range, with constant views across both countries. Expect rolling farmland, quiet market towns, and a mix of gentle valleys and steeper hill crossings. Well-waymarked and with good accommodation options, it offers a quieter alternative to busier national trails.
