    Pennine Way

    England · Northern England
    Challenging

England's oldest national trail, stretching 414km along the Pennine spine from Edale in the Peak District to Kirk Yetholm on the Scottish border. The route crosses wild moorland, peat bogs, limestone dales, and the dramatic High Cup Nick escarpment. Expect remote stretches with limited shelter, challenging navigation in poor visibility, and boggy conditions underfoot — especially on Cross Fell and the Cheviot. Accommodation is spaced out, so planning is essential. A serious undertaking best suited to experienced walkers.
