    Cumbria Way

    England · Northern England
    Hilly

A 124km route running the length of the Lake District from Ulverston in the south to Carlisle in the north. The trail passes through the heart of Lakeland, skirting the shores of Coniston Water and Derwentwater, crossing the Stake Pass between Langdale and Borrowdale, and traversing the pastoral lowlands of the Caldew Valley. Expect well-marked paths through dramatic fell scenery, charming villages with good accommodation, and quieter alternatives to the more famous Lake District summits. The Stake Pass section is the most demanding stretch.
