A 379km pilgrimage trail from Oslo to Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim, following medieval routes through the Gudbrandsdalen and Østerdalen valleys. The route passes through forests, farmland, and mountain plateaus, with historic churches, pilgrimage shelters, and Viking sites along the way. Expect a mix of forest tracks, farm roads, and mountain paths, with accommodation in pilgrim hostels, farms, and guesthouses. The trail has seen a revival of interest in recent years, with improved waymarking and a growing pilgrim community. The arrival at Nidaros Cathedral is a moving conclusion.
