    Sentiero Italia (Tuscany Section)

    Italy · Tuscany Apennines
    Hilly

A 300km section of the Sentiero Italia through the Tuscan Apennines, passing through chestnut forests, medieval hilltop towns, and pastoral landscapes. The route crosses the Apennine ridge between Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna, with views across rolling hills to both coasts. Expect a mix of forest trails, mule tracks, and quiet lanes connecting stone villages where local cuisine — porcini mushrooms, wild boar ragù, pecorino cheese — is a highlight. The terrain is moderate with some steeper Apennine crossings. Accommodation is in agriturismi, small hotels, and village guesthouses.
