A 130km panoramic trail along the western shore mountains above Lake Como, from Cernobbio to Sorico. The route follows ancient mule tracks through chestnut forests, past stone-built hamlets, and across mountain pastures with views down to the lake far below. Expect well-maintained paths with regular ascents and descents, rustic rifugi and agriturismi for accommodation, and a mix of lake-shore Mediterranean vegetation and mountain forests. The trail is quieter than the lakeside towns, offering a different perspective on this famous Italian landscape. Good connections by boat and bus.
