A 260km pilgrimage route from Porto to Santiago de Compostela through northern Portugal and Galicia. The route offers two variants — the inland Central Way through vineyards and farmland, and the Coastal Way along Atlantic beaches and fishing towns. Expect gentle terrain, warm hospitality in Portuguese villages, and a growing network of pilgrim accommodation. The coastal variant passes through Viana do Castelo and Baiona with ocean views throughout. Port wine cellars in Porto make an excellent starting point. Less crowded than the Camino Francés.
