    GR10 Pyrenees (Central Section)

    France · Pyrenees
    Mountainous

The central section of the GR10 traversing the French side of the Pyrenees for 300km through high mountain passes, glacial cirques, and remote valleys. The route passes beneath the dramatic peaks of the Cirque de Gavarnie, crosses flower-filled meadows, and descends to thermal spa towns. Expect demanding daily ascents, variable weather, and a mix of staffed refuges and basic shelters. The Pyrenees feel wilder and less developed than the Alps, with Basque and Béarnaise cultures enriching the journey. Water sources are generally plentiful.
