    North Downs Way

    England · Southern England
    Hilly

A 246km national trail following the chalk ridge of the North Downs from Farnham in Surrey to Dover in Kent. The route traces the ancient Pilgrims' Way through woodland, farmland, and chalk grassland, passing the cathedral city of Canterbury before ending at the White Cliffs of Dover. Expect well-waymarked paths through the Surrey Hills and Kent Downs Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Good transport links to London make section-walking straightforward. A quieter trail with a strong sense of pilgrimage history.
