A 320km trail following the right bank of the Rhine from Wiesbaden to Bonn through the UNESCO-listed Rhine Gorge. The route climbs to hilltop viewpoints above the river, passes medieval castles and ruined fortresses, and descends through terraced Riesling vineyards. Expect regular steep climbs from the river valley to ridgetop panoramas, with the Loreley rock and Marksburg Castle among the highlights. Rhine ferries connect both banks, and wine taverns (Straußwirtschaften) serve local vintages. The combination of cultural heritage, river scenery, and wine makes this a distinctively German trail experience.
