    Trans-Ardennes (RAVeL)

    Belgium · Ardennes
    Rolling

A 220km trail through the Belgian Ardennes combining old railway paths (RAVeL network) with forest trails. The route passes medieval castles, Trappist abbeys, and river valleys carved through the Ardennes plateau. Expect well-surfaced paths on former railway lines — gentle gradients and car-free — alternating with hillier forest sections. The Ardennes is known for its game cuisine, abbey beers, and autumn colours. The Semois valley with its meandering river and tobacco-drying barns is a highlight. Accommodation in charming valley towns is plentiful. An accessible trail suited to all fitness levels.
