    Wicklow Way

    Ireland · County Wicklow
    Hilly

Ireland's oldest waymarked trail, running 131km from Marlay Park in Dublin's southern suburbs through the Wicklow Mountains to Clonegal in County Carlow. The route climbs through blanket bog, heather-covered hills, and conifer plantations, passing the monastic ruins of Glendalough in its glacial valley. Expect boggy sections, especially at higher elevations, and changeable weather. The proximity to Dublin makes access easy, and the mix of mountain terrain and sheltered valleys offers varied walking. B&Bs and hostels are well-spaced along the route.
